The goal of the Missions and Outreach Ministry is to obey and facilitate obedience to the Great Commission as recorded in Matthew 28:18-20, “And Jesus came up and spoke to them saying, All authority has been given to me in heaven and on earth. Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age."

How Will We Pursue Our Goal?

We believe that the local church has been established by Jesus Christ as the primary means through which the Great Commission will be accomplished. Therefore, it is our ultimate goal to one day be the primary sending church of our own “home grown" missionaries. Until such time we will continue to work with missionary agencies and support missionaries which are consistent with our philosophy of ministry.

We also seek to raise the level of awareness of our members with regard to missions by:

• Having missionaries address our congregation
• Promoting and facilitating involvement in short-term missions
• Attending mission seminars
• Having a missions emphasis month
• Highlighting various missionaries from the past
• Video presentations

Outreach

We believe an effective & biblical local church is one that does not distance itself from its surrounding community but seeks opportunities to reach out to those who need the gospel (Matthew 5:13-16; Ephesians 4:15-17; Colossians 4:5). We view ourselves as having the dutiful privilege of broadcasting the excellencies of Jesus Christ in the gospel to our families, friends, neighbors, coworkers, classmates, and surrounding community. Realizing that we plant and water while God sovereignly gives the increase, our Outreach activities include the following:

• Community door-to-door outreach
• Booths/tables at community events & strategic locations
• Special prayer events
• Outreach training
